White Oak.

Last week TMP spent a week in one of the most magical, calming, and spiritual places in America. White Oak is a very special place for Trey McIntyre and the dancers. We used to spend 4 weeks a summer at White Oak for our yearly residency, where Trey would create and our repertory for the year all came together. TMP has not been back in 2 years and it was such a great feeling to be invited back for one very intense week.

The dancers, staff and board were all invited to White Oak for our week retreat. During the week we rehearsed, but more importantly we were able to connect with each other on a deeper level. Jan Salisbury, TMP’s leadership coach, was there to lead us in activities for us to better understand everyone’s role within TMP. We all work together every day and sometimes we get caught up in what we are working on we forget that everyone else is working just as hard. It was a nice moment to take time and acknowledge and say Thank You to the people we work with.

It was a truly special week. We are so grateful to White Oak and their staff- some of the nicest people in the world. Thank you so much. We hope we get to come back soon.
